I'll be home for Christmas---just kidding!!
Portland does not like Christmas I decided. Needless to say, i will , in fact, NOT be going home for Christmas and being with my family on Christmas for the first time in YEARS.
I am really bummed. The first opening flight is of course the day after...I am going to spend more time trying to get different flights. I need to go. I have another crying session coming on.....

I'll be home for Christmas!!!
We are so grateful for what Christmas really stands for. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, being brought to the world and the wonderful life he lead and the way he made it possible for us to all be together forever.
I heard that people are now pushing that we say HAPPY HOLIDAYS not referring to a Merry Christmas in our schools, in our place of work, etc. How terribly sad is that? I cannot even fathom the world if that is what becomes of it. How can you take Christ out of CHRISTMAS!!???
We hope you all reflect this time on the importance of family, of giving and of the true meaning and purpose of Christmas...that being the birth of our Saviour. Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

The place we call home....
We thought we would give a tour of our new place...this is mainly for our family who knows the cinder block walls and small place we use to live in.
Love that we can hang things on the wall---and ALL THE SPACE! This is our little heaven and we are so appreciative of it!!
It is so close to Steve's work and the bus stop is right outside our door. We also have covered parking. THis really is the best place I have ever lived in since I was an adult!
NEW THINGS I HAVE NEVER HAD SINCE BEING MARRIED THAT I AM IN LOVE WITH--
- Dishwasher
- Washer and Dryer
- Upstairs and downstairs
- Covered parking
- A huge master bedroom
- Two closets
- Walls that aren't cinder blocks
- An entertainment center
- An elementary school playground in backyard
- Swamp cooler for summer ( never had any air conditioning)

Proud of Myself
We have our in -laws truck here and I was planning on using it to drive to church. I get in the car and of course it doesn't work. So, I grab Andy, get her stroller all ready and book it to church.
Thank heavens the weather was great. The walk to church is all uphill...I made it in time for sacrament but I was sweating bullets and panting the whole time. Long story short---I almost just didn't go to church, but I am so glad I pushed myself and we were blessed. I was just rpoud of myself
on a different note--

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well--she has been going to bed at 8:30 or 9, waking up at 4 or 5 and NOT TAKING A NAP! Last night I almost lost it....We were at my friend Dave's play ( I will write about that in another post) and it wasn't over until after 9. She fell asleep after running and screaming right at the end. She woke up at 3 this morning, ready for the day and refused to take a nap.
I am so exhuasted, tired and onry , I feel I have nothing left in me. I was so tired today that I just sat and let Andy tear apart the house while I sobbed in the corner.
It is not because she does not wear herself out during the day...It is not because she goes to bed early. In fact, the later that I put her to bed it seems like the earlier she wakes up.
As I sat delirious today ( yes, I am going to bed right after this) I looked at her and Thanked heaven for my beautiful babe. She has been very clingy lately and I know those does are far too soon over. I love her so much. She really is a miracle and I would love to have 50 more miracles if it is possible.
So, any advice on how to keep sane and how to help her to sleep? Oh, she is also not sick so that is not the prob. Any suggestions?

Cleaning up???
Andy loves her Dadda so much. That is her favorite part of the day, laying and playing with dad.
She just loves chillin on her momma
I hardly ever put her in pig tails...She won't sit long enough for me to do it. So, I had to take pics while I could get the chance
What a silliness
Andy likes to spill her little puffs on the floor...The great gal is learning how to clean everything up as well....It is a slow process but you can't fault the gal..

THe worst night...with a bit of inspiration...
I look down at her and she is covered in throw up!! I scream out to Steve to come and help me (what a Hero). We immediately give Andy a bath...
Steve takes her downstairs, while I start a shower myself as alot got on me...Then Steve come running up and puts her in the shower with me. Needless to say, Andy had one more bath on top of that.
We decided to have a sleepover in the front room and lay down with towels and blankets. Well, Andy went for 6 hours straight, stopping to take a nap, then getting up, rolling over and throwing up.
I did at least three loads of laundry last night. TO sum up---I am so tired, I don't know why I am even writing...just cause. I am so glad that Steve was on his week off. I would have lost it without him. HE gave her a blessing and we just held her all night. I am so grateful I was inspired to go check on Andy---I don't think we would have heard her.
I am so grateful my husband has the priesthood and was inspired to give her a blessing. I would not have been able to do it without him by my side.Say a prayer for our little Angel.

Elections 2008
I love election time, even when I fear ALL of our prospects. There is just something about standing in line to cast your vote and sitting by the TV all day with your own blank USA Map coloring it red or blue....GO AMERICA!!

Halloween 2008 in all it's glory
With cousin Koda.
We went to Daddy's work to visit him there. She was a huge hit.
I have decided that Halloween is so much more fun with a little one. We went and saw some Aunt's, uncle's, cousin's and grandparents. Overall, I was exhausted. Considering you don't trick or treat as an adult, I think it was a success since I get her candy.

Can you guess???
The game is called----"CAN YOU GUESS WHICH ROOM ANDY HAS BEEN IN?" . I bet you will only need one try....Now, in her defense...we did JUST move and there are still plenty of boxes to go through...So Can you guess???
I have actually been amazed at how clean everything has kept. The key is to just clean it when she goes to bed at night. I am so grateful to the relief society for helping with the boxes, the elder's quorum for helping move them and to my husband for doing everything!!! There is still alot to do, but at least we can live in it now and find everything we need.
WE LOVE OUR NEW PLACE AND OUR FUN NEW GAME!!
