Do you ever feel like you don't think before you speak? Usually, when I have done this I say something I regret. This seems to be happening to me a LOT lately. I feel like Meg Ryan during "You've Got Mail" in the scene where she says she never could say what she really thinks, and then when she does she regrets it.
After it is out there, then that is it...you have put it out there. What you say could lead to someone thinking or feeling something you did not intend, and then start a whole slew of things that you would not want. So the lesson here is to not only THINK before we SPEAK, but also to just think about the NICE things that we can say. It is amazing how a nice word will go a long way. I hope it is the NICE things that people remember about me.

Addy and Mora are sitting on my lap trying to type for me :)...they loved seeing their adorable cousin. Addy just smiled saying "I love Andy, I love Andy, she's so cute, play it again". Especially the smiling at you. Love it. We will always check your postings. You are very remembered for your goodness. Especially from us. We love you!
Your comments about thinking before you speak made me think. I am convinced that it may not be as simple as that. For, consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin; and the kingdoms of the world, in all their glory, are not arrayed like one of these.
If you read on in Matthew 6, it talks about Solomon and even though Solomon did some great things he was not arrayed like one of these lilies.
Sometimes in our anxiousness we (unlike the lilies) speak, toil and spin. We have an inpatience and a feeling that it needs to be done this way or that way and it needs to be done now. We feel very strongly about things, we speak and worry. These things may or may not be as important as we think they are. But we raise our voice too early, we toil and spin with no direction.
The trick here is simple and it is really no trick at all. The answer is in verse 33. Seek first the will of the Lord and then things shall be added unto you. Worldly versus God like thoughts and speach.
So many times we try to solve things in worldy ways, including premature opening of our mouths. In 2nd Corinthians 7:9-12 it helps us understand the difference in solving things through godlike or worldlike ways. Godly thoughts and speach clear us and heal us completely. Worldly thoughts and means, as adorned as they may be never bring the clearing, healing and growing necessary.
Let our words be motivated by patience we have learned from waiting on the Lord.
